EduFinland is a place, a network, a community and cooperation. EduFinland is an archipelago in the virtual world of Second Life (www.secondlife.com). It’s a place where Finnish educators can easily and safely experiment with the possibilities of Second Life in education.
A concentration of Finnish educators and schools in the same area in Second Life serves many purposes. A shared area provides possibilities for efficient cooperation both between different educators and students. On a shared area it is also easy to organize joint events and share resources. The transmission of information and best practices is efficient and we can more easily learn from each other.
Finnish educators and schools may rent land from EduFinland for educational and research purposes. EduFinland also provides shared spaces like auditoriums and meeting facilities that educators may use. EduFinland also organizes regular social events, workshops and seminars.
